What is freeze drying?
Freeze drying is a special dehydration method where products are first frozen and then the water content is removed under low pressure. This process helps preserve the nutrients, aroma, and color of the product in the best possible way.
What is the shelf life of freeze-dried products?
When stored under proper conditions (cool, dry, and away from light), our products maintain their freshness and quality for up to 24 months, in compliance with the Turkish Food Codex. Once opened, we recommend keeping them away from moisture.
Do your products contain additives or preservatives?
No, our products do not contain any additives, added sugar, or preservatives. Their natural content is fully preserved thanks to our gentle production method.
How should I store your products?
Store our freeze-dried products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. After opening, keep them in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to moisture.
Are your products gluten-free/vegan/organic?
Most of our products are vegan and gluten-free, but there may be trace cross-contamination. Detailed ingredient and allergen information can be found on each product page. Products labeled as organic are certified accordingly.

What is your delivery time?
Delivery times vary between 2 to 15 business days depending on stock availability.
Do you charge for shipping?
Shipping may be free depending on the order amount. For industrial-scale orders, shipping costs are always the responsibility of the customer.
Can they be used in cooking?
Yes, certain products can enhance flavor and color when used in cooking. However, prolonged exposure to high heat may lead to a reduction in some nutrients.
Are your products suitable for children?
Yes, they are safe for children thanks to their natural and additive-free content. However, we recommend supervision when giving products with small pieces, and suggest checking for any allergen risks before offering new foods.

In addition to our food production license, we hold HACCP, ISO 9001, and ISO 22000 certifications. Organic products are certified on a product-by-product basis.
What is vegan protein?
Vegan protein is derived from plant-based sources rather than animals. At Farmhood, we produce our plant-based protein using upcycled by-products from tahini and oil production – a sustainable and nutritious alternative.
What is the protein content you’re developing in R&D?
Our R&D focuses on a high-quality vegan protein derived from oilseed by-products. It is being developed for use in functional snacks and beverages as a clean-label, sustainable ingredient.
Where can I find your protein-based products?
Our functional products are currently being tested at selected retail locations. Once the development phase is complete, they will be available through our online store and selected retail partners. Stay updated through our social media and newsletter.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dietmar Ueberbacher, Berkin Safak Sener and Areej Ja’fari from FAO to our office.
We shared what we have been building at Farmhood over the last four years as a foodtech startup based in Istanbul, Türkiye; from our work on agricultural side-streams to our freeze dried products and our vision for circular, plant based ingredients. We spoke not only about our progress, but also about what is working, what is still challenging, and what it really takes to build a foodtech startup from scratch.
But the most valuable part of the visit was the conversation. For a startup, visibility matters. Having them in our office, listening to our story and asking thoughtful questions, made us feel seen and encouraged.

Geçtiğimiz hafta, FAO’dan ofisimizde ağırlamaktan büyük mutluluk duyduk.
Kendileriyle, İstanbul merkezli bir gıda teknolojileri girişimi olarak Farmhood’da son dört yıldır üzerinde çalıştığımız projeleri paylaştık. Tarımsal yan ürünlerin değerlendirilmesine yönelik çalışmalarımızdan dondurarak kurutulmuş ürünlerimize ve döngüsel ekonomi yaklaşımıyla geliştirdiğimiz bitki bazlı içerik vizyonumuza kadar uzanan yolculuğumuzu anlattık. Sadece bugüne kadar kat ettiğimiz mesafeyi değil, aynı zamanda hâlâ karşılaştığımız zorlukları ve sıfırdan bir foodtech girişimi inşa etmenin gerçeklerini de konuştuk.
Ancak ziyaretin en değerli kısmı, kurduğumuz samimi ve ilham verici diyalogdu. Bir girişim için görünür olmak büyük önem taşıyor. Ofisimize gelmeleri, hikâyemizi dinlemeleri ve bize düşündürücü sorular yöneltmeleri, kendimizi değerli ve desteklenmiş hissetmemizi sağladı.
